Alan Barnett

With over 30 years experience in Human Resources, Alan has worked across every facet of organisation and human resource planning, delivering workforce management solutions to drive business outcomes. Previously head of Human Resources for one of the world’s leading healthcare companies, Alan’s focus on the competitive advantage of human capital contributed to double-digit growth of the business.

Alan’s significant experience in both private and public sectors – across construction, engineering, manufacturing, warehousing / distribution, consumer goods and education – has been at the leading edge of Human Resources practices. Working across Asia Pacific and the US, has enabled him to provide high-level solutions to organisation, leadership and cultural initiatives. Alan’s pragmatic style ensures the alignment of leaders and teams behind business strategy. Alan puts communication and behaviours high on the leadership and change agendas and has substantial experience in both.

Alan’s recent assignments include leadership coaching, leadership team development, horizontal organisation structures, team alignments, cultural change programs, restructures and critical human interventions.  Alan has worked with organisations including Johnson and Johnson, Alphapharm, Pfizer, Lexus Nexus, Invacare, Life’s Good (LG), and State and Federal Governments. Alan has also represented employers and employer organisations (AiG) in representations to state and federal governments.

Alan has presented at Industry Forums and HR Conferences in Australia and for the Conference Board in New York on change management and organisational behaviour.

Alan has tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management and is certified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). He is an accomplished facilitator and coach. Alan has served on the Southern Sydney Institute Council of TAFE and was past President of the NSW Government Human Resources Forum.
